The Links Kempston

The Links Kempston:

71-The-Links-KempstonKempston is a small town in its own right, with Bedford immediately next door as a larger neighbour. Victorian terraced houses are at the core of the original town, but a large number of lower cost semi detached and detached houses have been built further and further away from the original town centre since the end of the Second World War. The Links is a road on which these forms of property were built.

This extension project was for a detached house with ground floor living areas, kitchen and bathroom, and two first floor bedrooms built within a steeply pitched ‘A’ framed roof.

The project brief was to design an extension to provide a larger kitchen and dining space on the ground floor, and a new master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, on the first floor.

The new accommodation has been achieved by building an extension onto the side of the original house, in which the newly fitted out kitchen space merges with an open plan dining area overlooking the rear garden, accessed by a pair of glazed doors.
The existing first floor landing area was enlarged a little to provide access to the new master bedroom, with ensuite bathroom to the side.
